Dr. Essien Ewang received his Ph.D. in Space Systems Engineering from Department of Engineering, Kyushu Institute of Technology, Japan in 2017.
Studied and obtained M.Sc. in Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria in 2014.
He also Studied and obtained B.Eng. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, M.Sc. in Public Order and Information Management (POIM) and B.Sc. in Mathematics, University of Uyo, Uyo, Nigeria, in 2009, 2005 and 2000 respectively.
In the period from 2010 - 2014, worked with African Regional Centre for Space Science and Technology Education in English (ARCSSTE-E) as a researcher and lecturer.
In 2014 - 2017 served as a research assistant in laboratory of Lean Satellite Enterprises and In-Orbit Experiment, Kyushu Institute of Technology, Kitakyushu, Japan.
He is a member of some satellite projects research groups, including that of HORYU 1V that he developed a payload for Photoelectron Current measurement system on the satellite.
A member of many professional bodies including the Amateur Radio Operator Licenses (Technician and General Class) in Satellite Station, where he operates and manages KYUTECH Satellite ground station.
Presently, serving as a Space Systems Engineer in CSTD under the auspices of National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Nigeria.
A head of Industry and Academic Linkage among other positions.
In addition, an Assistant Professor in Institute of Space Science and Engineering, NASRDA, an Affiliates of African University of Science and Technology, Abuja, Nigeria.
Also serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor, University of Abuja, Nigeria.
He has supervised several postgraduate and undergraduate students' dissertations and authored and co-authored many research papers in international and local peer reviewed journals.
His research interest includes Small Satellite, Space Environment Interactions and Innovations.
